Please post your broadband questions, ask us what you want and we will try to answer it for you!
Tell us what you want to do with broadband. - email, conferencing, music, phone calls, work, fileshare, websites, photos albums, online learning, research, security, the list is endless.
We have three options to choose from and are currently testing them them out prior to a public meeting the first weekend of June in the Institute, (Sunday 6th at 3pm is the proposed date but notices will be put up round the village)
Questions posted here will be addressed at that meeting so please ask away!

The steering committee who are endeavouring to bring a broadband service to the community are having an open meeting at 3pm on Sunday 6th June 2004 in the Institute in Wray. Anyony interested is welcome to attend and hear about the options that are now available. Some places are available on a wireless network trial, these will be ;D free ;D until the service is perfected (within three months we hope) and then a charge will be levied. If you come to the meeting you will see if your house is in the area the mesh will cover. We are not sure how much this charge will be, but will be a lot less than the major ISPs and provide a better/faster service with no capping. If you want any information or want to help us or have any points to make then come to the meeting. We want the community to know what we are doing and join us if they choose.

ADSL is now available in our area. The University trial of the wireless village network will start roll out in July. You pays your money and takes your choice. Good luck and happy surfing. Post your feelings here, tell us your thoughts...

Everyone now has a choice as to which broadband service they would like. Currently most people near the village can get an ADSL or a wireless connection. If you would like to join the wireless trial email us or leave a message here. Currently the service is free, but once we have stabilised the signal we will start to charge, in order to keep the service sustainable once the trial is over. We hope to be able to provide the signal you want at a price that suits your pocket! Email us on bb@wrayvillage.co.uk

I am waiting for the wireless broadband to start, can anyone tell me when it will be available in the village? My friend told me it would be better than the adsl connection because it is much faster, is that so? and how much will it cost? thanks a lot Bill

Yes I had heard about the village network, I picked it up on my laptop in the street but not in my aunt's house. Do I have to buy something to put in the window? Hope someone answers these questions soon

We are just awaiting delivery of two special antenna from America and soon you will be able to pick up the signal in your aunt's house. Which house is it? Quite a few near the school can pick it up now, and at the far end of Wennington road you can get a good link. contact us at bb@wraycomcom.org.uk for the password if you get a signal. Once the antenna are here we will send flyers round the village to let everyone know, and shortly after that we will take on our first customers. Won't be long now. Chris
